After much sun tanning and risking the possibility of skin cancer, im back! LOL

My trip started on Friday night. Met Wenqi, Huey Ling, Jeff, Andrew, Jas, Anne and Desiree at the train station and caught the bus to Malaysia. Stayed at Compact hotel in Johor Bahru. The hotel was pretty close to the Causeway and to my surprise, the room rates were pretty cheap. Each person only had to fork out around RM 30. The room was spacious and clean. Great view of the causeway. After checking in, we went to get our seafood dinner. Dinner was medicocre. Not the best i had but i cant complained much. After dinner, Andrew decided to bring us for Roti Prata. I thought he was kidding but we ended up sitting inside some alley square and tasted one of the best non oily prata. *Yummy*

Woke up bright and early on Saturday morning. Qi kept nagging at me to wake up and i kept telling her " 5 mins more alright?" LOL After much unwillingness, i finally got up. We ate breakfast and took a cab to Mersing, Johor. That was where the jetty was. The ride was about 1 .5 hours. During the ride, i saw many plantations and passed by the outskirts of several towns. I gotta say that i love the charms of small towns. Anyways when we got to Mersing, we boarded the speedboat to Pulau Tioman. Being on the speed boat was similar to a roller coaster. It was really fast and we got to the island in 45 mins compared to 2.5 hours if we took the ferry. I told everyone that i suffered from motion sickness and i was pretty worried that i would puked. Thank goodness i didnt, although the lady sitting next to Qi looked like she was going to gut it out any moment. LOL Jeff asked me how i felt after the ride and i told him that the boat was going so fast that i didnt have the time to feel the swaying. LOL I did get some sea water splashed on me though.

Alighted at the jetty and walked on the wobbly wooden platform to Idaman Beach resort. We checked in and went to the rooms. The shack was pretty small but it was "beachy". The cabin was located right infront of the beach and the whole resort was pretty "Kampung-styled". I love that charm of it. The beach was fabulous. Crystal clear water with white sand. It was indeed paradise at my feet. Qi, Huey Ling and me decided to play beach volleyball even though the sun was scorching hot. The sand was red hot and my feet was burning up. Everyone was running to the water to cool the feet every 5 mins. LOL We played with some folks from Singapore as well. Then when the heat got unbearable, we just went to take a dip in the soothing water and sun tanned for a while after. Dinner was home-cooked food by the family who ran the resort. The whole gang head off to the small surrounding area to check out other resorts and small shops. After looking at the other resorts situated on the hilly areas of the island, i felt that we got a better deal. We went back to our cabin and Qi, Ling, Jeff and me went for night fishing on the wobbly jetty since we had tons of unexhausted enery. Jeff just attached some hook with bait on some fishing line. No rod at all. Nevertheless, Ling caught 2 baby squids, Jeff caught a small red snapper and i caught nothing. LOL Qi caught a baby shark with that "suku" method and we were all excited and were jumping around on the jetty. LOL The shark was still alive and it looked like it was going to attack us any min. Some guy came out to the jetty and saw the shark and informed the whole kampong i think. LOL A school group from Selangor came out later and caught a bigger shark but they couldnt hurl it up as it was really huge. The sky was clear and the ocean was calm. The stars were out in full force, and without the city lights, the sky looked amazing that night.

    *Continued tomorrow.........................*
