Wat Chaiwatthanaram. This has to be my favourite attraction. The grounds were really pretty and carried a touch of past era of Ayutthaya period. The wat was a royal moastery. It was a wat where the king and his descendants would perform religious rites; thus renvation would have been continuous. It was also used as a cremation site for princes, princesses and other memebers of the royal familyI 1767 A.D., Ayutthaya, capital of Thailand, was besieged by Burmese Invaders and the wat became and army camp. To me, it resembles Ang Kor Wat athough this doesnt carry the grandeur that Ang Kor Wat does. The grounds are pretty popular with tourists. Ronald was extremely happy with the sight of of Japanese and Caucasian female visitors touring the place. Qi and me just didnt have similar luck. Ha ha!
