::: Listening to That's All- Michael Buble:::

Okay im lazing around instead of working hard for my sociology test next month...yeah I need a month to study for a test...I am that slow...LOL I always study at a slow speed because I cant seem to grasp the concepts well. And it doesn't help because im a procrastinator and needs a looooonnnnnggggggg time to actually hit the books.

I enjoy blogging. Writing stuff etc because I like to WRITE! DOH@@@ Well I cant find a topic most of the time and I really don't want to write what I do in a day because I normally do nothing and its like carrying a webcam with me and broadcast it all over the internet. You get what I mean? I have to thank Winnie for this. She got me into the blogging "mode" and helped me with the site. And she also complains when I don't update! LOL What happened to phone calls? LOL Kaypoh! LOL Sorry sis....ha ha ha...treat you to more banditto pocketts alright?

As much as I hate the fast pace of technology set upon us, I do like the fact that internet transcends across the globe. I do miss the outings or should I say the "human touch". We are starting to be "robotic". Robot moves when it comes to dancing, computer generated noises.... Although I really don't mind a robot doing my studying for me. LOL See I am LAZY! Bad Carina!!! *pinches myself* The human race has been immersed with the comforts of technology and its really altering our personalities and characteristics.

You know, I wanted to write about food but I ended up talking about technology. Just like LIFE, we always end up somewhere different than the original destination.

    Okay food.......

I had crab bisque and laksa at Island Cafe-CK Tangs last night . The bisque is flavourful with a soft scent of lemon grass and a touch of cream or coconut milk. The laksa however came in a large portion. I called it the "American" portion. It has quail eggs, fishball, shrimp, Cray fish, fishcakes, cockles, beancurd skin etc. I enjoyed the dish although I didn't like the thick coconut milk. Makes me fatter and piles on the calories and cholesterol! ARGH!!!! Did I mention that it costs $12???? That's like the most expensive hawker food I had !! Of course I would love to try the $16 chicken rice from Chatterbox since it is rumored to be the most delicious chicken rice in Singapore. However the price of that turns me off a little. I would rather spend $30 for a international buffet at Oriental. With lobsters, scallops, shrimps...etc Hungry hungry hungry.. I don't know why I always get passionate when it comes to food! LOL

I like to eat and try out different places but I totally hate dress codes. I like to be totally relaxed to enjoy a good meal and not trying to look pretty and eat at the same time. My imaginary perfect dress codes: ANything you want. LOL Its hard to be deck out in nice outfit and then perspire under the tropical sun. In the end, whatever perfume I had on will smell like cat piss or something. Yup imagine that..sitting in a nice restaurant and smelling like a cat pissed on me...Very nice.... Although I will have the restaurant to myself since everyone else will be put off with the piss....LOL

Its okay if guys cant cook. But guys, if you cant cook, don't expect your girlfriends to cook for you and bitch about it alright? Personally, I like a guy who can cooks and know how to prepare a romantic dinner. I mean we don't have to have candle light dinners every night but coming home to a dinner on the table is certainly nice. I cant stand guys who just freakin sit on the couch and demand for dinner. Take a hike! Yikes! My partner would have to share my love for food and cooking. Besides, knowing how to cook and likes to cook just up the dreamboat quotient! LOL*wink wink* I am thinking of enrolling in a culinary course once I finish my degree and also take a course and apply for tourist guide license.

Its been weird lately. I am starting to identify a location with food or their local specialty.

Australia- Yabbies and beef pot pies. When I went to the downunder a couple of years ago, had freakin huge scallops in Sydney's Chinatown. Boy it was so delicious. The crabs are bigger than my head and my head is pretty big. Seafood platter at Fisherman's Wharf in Cairns. That was delicious! The yabbies-( like a mini lobster) was great! It is succulent with a touch of the "ocean" flavour that I loved!!! Somehow it left a deep impression on me. I couldnt forget that. Probably its my first seafood platter too and they don't fry anything. I remembered that night at Fisherman's Wharves. The night was beautiful with a breeze and the restaurant was on the second floor and it faced out to the Great Barrier reef. Something peaceful, something serene about that experience.

Sweden- Swedish meatballs. I always wanted to try it at Ikea's Restaurant because its cheap! LOL Cheapo yes i am! I made them myself before with the help of a recipe book from a dear friend of mine. It was not bad. Kinda like italian meatballs but swedish meatballs has more spice in them and no tomato sauce.

England- sausages and mash, spotted dicks (I shit you not), vegemite, kedegree etc. Whats really surprising is that Singapore is once a British Colony. However their food has never been an influence here. Oh English high tea doesnt count. I do like sausages a lot!

Ireland- colcannon (irish mash potato), irish beef stews , Guiness beef, shepherd's pie etc I had irish food at The Dubliner Irish pub basically because i dont know of any real Irish restaurants other than pubs/restaurants like Molly Malones, Father Flanagans, Muddy Murphys etc. I like the huge potions and colcannon! Something about mash potatoes with cabbages and bacon....hmmmm bacon....he he just like Homer.

Japan- Let me make this clear: I only like the food. I dont like Japanese music or their movies or tv shows- except for Japan hour so stop coming and ask me if i watched the latest Jap series!!!!!I dont watch their shows!!!!. I know this is silly but i dont have interests to know more about the country full of people into kiddie porn or dirty underwear. I do know that not all of them are like that but i guess i have to generalize. I am only interested in their food. Sushi and sashimi! Bring them my way! I only eat raw salmon. No raw mackerel or tuna. Yikes! hates udon but like ramen. I really like teppanyaki and yakiniku(Thanks hon! Cow's tongue! Loved it!)! I remembered that my uncle Ben and aunt Florence brought me and my brother to the Hilltop restaurant at Jurong and we had the most delicious fried rice and crayfish-or was it lobster? I dont remember. It was great! Loved it! Oh and Japanese steamboat at IMM. I like the sauces and dips.

Korea -Ginseng chicken, Bulgogi- i hope i spell that correctly, Kim chi! My grandma makes top rated "kim chi liked" A-zar! Nuff said.

Thailand- Pineapple fried rice and tom yam soup. You have got to try Taste of Thai at Sembawang SC. Its cheap and good! Its not "totally" thai but its is suffice to satisfy my cravings. My eldest aunt makes the best Thai pineapple fried rice by the way.

Hong Kong- Dim sum Dim Sum and more Dim Sum!!! I love Dim Sum!!! Had Dim sum at a restaurant on Hong Kong Island. I think its at Causeway bay or Wan Chai. It was the BEST!!!!! The fresh shrimps in Har Kows! *licks fingers*. Yam paste pastry is so delicious. Deep fried but without the oily after taste. Crisp with sesame seeds. Did you know that the second time i went to HK, i went all over and tried shrimp dumplings from different stores??? LOL

America- This country is hard to classify like China because it is huge! When i went to CA, i had huge burgers! LOL and fake chinese food in the disguise of Panda Express! LOL But besides soy, CA do have seafood. Went to seafood village in San Diego. And round the clock cheap buffet in Vegas. America does have good Salmon- Alaskan salmon , king crabs, Maine Lobsters...American food is more than burgers and french fries to all Mickey D's freaks. I guess each state has its own speciality and i have yet to try it all!

Italy Everyone knows. Pastas, pizzas, tiramisu.......Personally, i like bruschetta, risottos, manicotti!!! Loves ricotta cheese!!!! Alot of people dont know this but Italians also use alot of seafood in their cooking as the northern part are close to the Mediterrenean sea. And Italians do make good wine. With the natural rich soil and good climate, grapes vines are grown exceptionally well.

Of course of all that, i will never be able to forget Singapore food! All the chicken rice, laksas, chilli crabs etc. What i like is the fact that SG is like a melting pot. You can get almost every type of food here!

Okay enough of the countries. i will put up more when i can think of it. LOL I am into Mediterreanean and greek(Feta cheese-yummy) food lately. Went to this Med restaurant a couple of weeks ago and had Portugese Goa Curry. Its is originally an indian dish but has been modified in Portugal. Mediterreanean food is lower in fat and they have less meat. Their diet consists of more fish and vegetables. My favourites are Greek Pasta Salad and Greek Garden Salad!

I have been listening to almost nothing except for Michael Buble. Heard that he is coming next Jan! Keeping my fingers crossed. *pray to the Almighty* Please please please!!!!

Now if you click on the link i had on the website, you can listen to Buble's self entitled album. Just click on the Buble link and launch the player. BUY THE CD!!!!!! The Buble magic has unleashed its forces on me. *lord save me!!!!*LOL

Enough for the day. My fingers are tired and my nails are chipping from the massive blogging!
    Until then........

"With each word your tenderness grows,
    Tearing my fears apart
And that laugh that wrinkles your nose,
    Touches my foolish heart"
